Pre & Post Instructions

Pre-Waxing

  • Please discontinue the use of any chemical exfoliants, The Wax Spot Ingrown Serum, topical prescriptions, retinols and/or scrubs at least 48 hours before your appointment.

​

  • If you are currently on Accutane/ Isotretinoin you are NOT eligible for any services at The Wax Spot.

​

  • Please do not shave, trim or use any chemical depilatory products.

​

  • Please stay out of the sun for at least 48 hours prior to your appointment.

​

  • Wait at least 3 weeks to get waxed after receiving any injectables, filler, botox and chemical peels.

​

  • Wait at least 48 hours post-facial to get waxed.

Post-Waxing

  • If you get a histamine reaction (swollen around areas where roots were snatched) or the area is sensitive apply cold compresses to the area and/or OC hydrocortisone or purchase a bottle of DMK Contraderm or DMK BetGel at the spa (whichever your service provider recommends for your skin). This step applies to the face and body.
     

  • Do not engage in the following activities:

    • Sex

    • Hot tubs

    • Swimming pools

    • Sweating, Beach/Ocean.

    • You do not want any bacteria to enter into the pores on new skin.
       

  • If you can, do not wear underwear after your appointment. Going forward, refrain from wearing lace and tight underwear.  100% cotton underwear or boy shorts are your best options.
     

  • Exfoliate BUT do NOT over exfoliate. Use manual method with exfoliating gloves in the shower or The Wax Spot ingrown and brightening serum (use 2 to 3 times per week DO NOT use more than recommended). DO NOT use gloves and serum together...choose one method. The serum can be used 2 days post wax.
     

  • Remember to apply sunscreen to any areas that are exposed to the sun ....it's important!
