The Wax Spot was founded by Minnesota native Aesha Briggs after she and her family relocated to Chesapeake, Virginia. Being a Licensed Esthetician for over 20 years, Aesha saw the need for quality waxing and skin care services, so in 2018 she took a leap of faith and brought the vision of The Wax Spot to life. The salon has grown from one small room with two wax pots, a massage table and one case of wax to the beautiful facility it is today. The staff at the Wax Spot thrive on providing impeccable, professional care to each and every client.

Founder, Lead Esthetician
Aesha Briggs
As Founder and Lead Esthetician, Aesha Briggs brings over 20 years of knowledge and compassion to The Wax Spot. In addition to being a Licensed Esthetician she has also worked as an educator and esthetician for Aveda Lifestyle Salon and Spa(s) in the Washington DC area, Blue Mercury, and Bliss Spa in Soho, NY, Aesha has also worked closely with a team of dermatologists in Northern Virginia. With her vast experience opening The Wax Spot was the perfect opportunity to share her skills with other. She is passionate about making other feel beautiful and mentoring those that want to learn more about the industry. Aesha and her team’s motto is simple:

Esthetician
Erica Turner
Erica Turner is a licensed esthetician with two years of hands-on experience and a deep passion for helping clients feel confident in their skin. A local to the area and a graduate of the Crissom Institute in Virginia Beach, Erica is a DMK Expert, her favorite line to work with for delivering real, results-driven skin transformations. Known for her unique and deeply soothing massage techniques, she creates a calming, personalized experience that leaves clients relaxed, refreshed, and glowing long after their treatment.
Donna Ludwig, NP
Medical Director
Donna Ludwig is a seasoned Nurse Practitioner with over two decades of healthcare experience, bringing deep clinical expertise and heartfelt dedication to her role at The Wax Spot Laser & Skin Spa, where she proudly serves as Medical Director. A graduate of Norfolk State University, she has cared for patients across a wide range of specialties including trauma, oncology, and family practice, which shaped her compassionate and holistic approach to wellness. Donna’s personal journey with weight loss medicine has further strengthened her empathy and passion for guiding others toward sustainable health, confidence, and overall well-being. Outside the spa, she is a devoted mom and Mimi who brings the same warmth, care, and commitment to every patient she serves.
